How I work
Terms of service
These terms describe how I work: what you can count on, what I need from you, and what happens when things do not go to plan. They supplement the accepted quote, which takes precedence in the event of any conflict.
This English text is a courtesy translation. In the event of any discrepancy, the French version prevails, and French law applies.
Scope
They apply to all work carried out by Blanc Conseil, on site or remotely, for businesses and individuals alike. Accepting a quote constitutes acceptance of these terms.
Services covered
- IT support and troubleshooting: workstations, servers, peripherals, networking and Wi-Fi
- Mobile devices, tablets, connected televisions and smart devices
- Cloud migration, storage, sharing and backup
- Development of macOS, iOS, iPadOS and mobile applications, websites and business tools
- Training and one-to-one mentoring
Not covered: migrating an email service from one provider to another, workshop hardware repair (soldering, component replacement) and web hosting. Such requests are referred to a suitable specialist.
Quotes and commitment
- Quotes are free, carry no obligation, and remain valid for thirty days
- Work begins once the quote has been accepted in writing, email included
- Anything outside the original scope is quoted as an amendment before it is carried out
Response times
Any request received on a working day receives a first reply the same day. That reply scopes the request and proposes next steps; it is not a commitment to restore service within a given time.
A guaranteed restoration time falls under a separate maintenance contract, which can be drawn up on request.
How the work is carried out
Remotely: remote control of your machine takes place only with your explicit agreement, through a tool that you start yourself. The session stays visible on your screen and you can end it at any moment.
On site: access to the premises and to the equipment concerned must be available for the whole of the scheduled visit.
Coverage and travel
- Principality of Monaco, Alpes-Maritimes (06), Var (83) and Alpes-de-Haute-Provence (04)
- Flat travel charge of €50 for distances under 25 km
- Beyond 25 km, travel is quoted individually
- Remote work carries no travel charge
Hours
Monday to Friday, 9.00 am to 12.00 pm and 1.30 pm to 6.30 pm, excluding public holidays.
Work outside these hours, and at weekends, remains possible by prior agreement: time spent is then charged at double.
What I need from you
The first point matters most: an up-to-date backup of your data must exist before any work begins. Even carefully performed maintenance can expose a latent hardware fault. If no backup exists, I can make one first; it is then charged as a service.
- Have an up-to-date, verified backup before the work starts
- Provide access to the premises, the equipment and the accounts involved
- Hold the licences and usage rights for the software concerned
- Flag anything unusual you know of: encryption, sensitive data, business constraints
- Nominate someone reachable during the work
Confidentiality
Everything seen or learned in the course of the work remains confidential, with no time limit. No access is made beyond what solving the problem requires, and no data is copied off your systems without your agreement.
The handling of data submitted through this website is described in the privacy policy.
Liability
Blanc Conseil is bound by an obligation of means: to apply the skill and care required to resolve the problem presented.
- Data loss cannot be attributed to Blanc Conseil where no prior, verified backup existed
- Hardware faults pre-dating the work, or revealed by it, remain the client’s responsibility
- Outages caused by a third party — internet provider, software vendor, host, carrier — fall outside this liability
- In all cases, liability is limited to the value of the service concerned
Rates and payment
- The applicable rates are those stated on the quote
- VAT not applicable, article 293 B of the French General Tax Code
- Payment on receipt of invoice, unless the quote states otherwise
- Accepted methods: bank transfer, card, SumUp, cash
For business clients, late payment automatically incurs interest at the European Central Bank rate plus ten points, together with a fixed recovery charge of forty euros, under article L.441-10 of the French Commercial Code.
Cancellation and rescheduling
An appointment may be cancelled or moved freely up to twenty-four hours beforehand. After that, travel already undertaken may be charged at the applicable flat rate.
Right of withdrawal
Consumers who contract at a distance or away from business premises have fourteen days to withdraw. If they expressly ask for the work to begin before that period expires, they remain liable for the work already performed should they withdraw, under article L.221-25 of the French Consumer Code.
Complaints
Any complaint should be sent in writing to the contact address. A reply is provided as promptly as possible, and within two months at the latest. Routes to amicable settlement are set out in the legal notice.
Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. Failing an amicable settlement, the French courts have sole jurisdiction.
